Mrs. Vera Meredith died at hospital annex
TIMESNEWS – Mrs. Vera Meredith, 72, died early this morning at the Virginia Gay Hospital annex following a long illness.
She was born April 16, 1905 at Vinton, a daughter of William C. and Mary Powers Seely. She married Leon Meredith, who preceded her in death Aug. 27, 1970. She was employed as a cook in the Vinton schools 10 years.
She is survived by one son, Charles M. of Vinton; one daughter, Mrs. Charlene Culbertson of Vinton; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Cummings of Vinton; and one brother, Floyd Seely of Vinton.
Funeral services will be at 14:30 p.m. Thursday at the Campbell-Russell Funeral Home, with the Rev. G.C. Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
A memorial fund has been established.
