RICHARD D. CILLEY

WILLIAMSBURG - Richard D. Cilley M.D. died May 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn R. Cilley, and nine children.

Dr. Cilley was born July 2, 1926, to Leon D. and Hattie M. Cilley of Concord, N.H. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Pharmacist's Mate Second Class, he graduated from Tufts University and then the Boston University School of Medicine with his Doctor of Medicine degree. He was an honors graduate and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society. Dr. Cilley established a medical clinic in Windsor, Conn., in 1957. He left private practice in 1966 to become a college physician at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, where he traveled as the doctor for both the UNH hockey and football teams. In 1972, he accepted a position with The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He was the head of the student health service there until his retirement.

A small, informal service will be held at his former residence on Tanbark Lane at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Williamsburg Regional Library System in memory of Richard D. Cilley M.D.
