Richard Dean Seeley, Sr., age 75, went home to be with the Lord on November 6th, 2014. He was surrounded by his children and wife of 55 years.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Monday morning, November 10, 2014 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where friends may call from 4 until 7 Sunday. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Richard Dean Seeley, Sr., age 75, formerly of Monticello, went home to be with the Lord on November 6th, 2014. He was surrounded by his children and wife of 55 years.
Richard, currently of Winterset, Iowa, was a 1957 graduate of Anamosa High School, and spent six years in the US Navy. Rich lived most of his adult life in Monticello, Iowa. He called himself a “hydraulics man” and for 33 years was employed in sales at Energy Manufacturing. During his retirement years he worked for Home Depot in Des Moines. He was a member of Burns Masonic Lodge and ZaGaZig Shrine.
Rich was an outdoorsman who loved to fish, tell stories, and sing. He lived in service to others, loved life, and looked forward to Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Winterset, IA. His children, Cristi Recker (fiancé Terry Dingmann) of Anamosa, IA; Cathi “Cate” Miller (Paul) of Des Moines; Richard “Rick” Dean Seeley, Jr. (Julie) of Manchester; Carri Burroughs (Blair) of Louisville, KY; and 16 grandchildren and expecting his first two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Jane Carpenter of Anamosa, IA, four sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
