Mrs. Alice Seeley, Of Fredonia, Dies Following Surgery

Mrs. Alice Bittenbender Seeley, 80, Fredonia, N.Y., former Kane and Bradford resident, died unexpectedly in Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, N.Y. at 5 a.m. yesterday.

Mrs. Seeley was recuperating from surgery performed Wednesday. She was born in Clarion County and had lived in Kane until her marriage about 60 years ago, when she moved to Bradford, having lived there about 30 years. She then took up residence in Fredonia.

Her husband, Ernest, died 11 years ago. Mrs. Seeley was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Daughter s of the American Revolution.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Grace Morse, Fredonia; four sisters, the Misses Irene and Margaret Bittenbender, and Mrs. Mildred Withington, all of Kane; and Mrs. Frances Letts, Cleveland; and one brother, James, Kane.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Larson Memorial Chapel, Fredonia, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. The Rev. David Buttrick, minister of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia.
