James J. Seeley, 79, of Westvale died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center after a long illness.
A native and life resident of Syracuse, he was a budget analyst for Carrier Corp., retiring in 1982 after 42 years.
He was a member of the first graduating class of St. Patrick's High School, a graduate of Central City Business Institute and attended Le Moyne College.
He was a captain in the Army Medical Corps, serving in Europe during World War II. He received a Bronze Star for his service in Holland.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, a life member of the Pastime Athletic Club and a member of the Liederkranz Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine McGadey of Westvale; a son, Dr. David J. of Fayetteville; a daughter, Catherine E. Ryan of Westvale; two brothers, Francis R. "Bob" of Syracuse and Thomas E. of Westvale; seven grandchildren; and several nieces.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at John C. Tindall Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
Calling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St.
