SEELEY, Jonas, of Pine City, NY passed away peacefully while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospital SNF on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the age of 75. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Saturday, June 20, 2009 between the hours of 3 - 5 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 5:15 p.m. with his pastor and friend the Reverend Jennifer Wolf officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the Millerton United Methodist Church, 5443 Main St., Millerton, PA 16936, the Boy Scouts of America, 5 Rivers Council, 244 W. Water St., Elmira, NY 14901 or St. Joseph's Hospital Rehab Unit, 555 E. Market St., Elmira, NY 14901 in his memory.

SEELEY Jonas Of Pine City, NY passed away peacefully while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospital SNF on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the age of 75.
Born on April 7, 1934 in Elmira, NY, Jonas was the son of the late Richard J. & Mildred Smith Seeley. He married Rose Mary Brewer on June 13, 1953 in the Millerton United Methodist Church where he has been an active member for many years. Mr. Seeley was employed by NYSEG for over 43 years and retired as a General Foreman. He was devoted to the Boy Scouts and supported their outstanding benefit to youth. Jonas enjoyed wildlife and built his dream home in Pine City during the late 70's. While there he had grown and pruned evergreens. Many of those trees adorned peoples homes during Christmas time and assisted his children with their continuing education. His grandchildren fondly remember his delights, pancakes, ice cream and that he was a sports enthusiast who recently converted to the Yankees.
Surviving is his loving family, wife and companion of 56 years, Rose Mary Smith Seeley; three children, Jan Seeley, Rochester; Jeff (Dale) Seeley, Williamsport, PA; and Mary Seeley (Scott Hudson), Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Bryson, Matt (Charis) Seeley, Tyler Hudson and Sarah Hudson; brother, Richard Seeley, Phoenix, AZ sister-in-law, Erma (Glenn) Frank, Millerton, PA along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jonas was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn (Arthur) Cowburn.
