SEELY, Charles William

Age 76 of Elmira, passed away at his home Friday, January 26, 1996 after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Vera. Charles and Vera would have been married 50 years June 30, 1996. He is also survived by his son, Charles R. (Linda) Seely of Elmira; grandchildren, Krista (Brent) Weed, Alison Seely; great-granddaughter, Brittany; son-in-law, Jake Stimson; sisters-in-law, Pauline (Fred) Elston of Lowman, Lena Swatsworth of Elmira, Anne Chomenko of Horseheads; brother-in-law, Maynard (Hazel) Chomenko of N. Chemung; nephew, Robert Denson of Erin; and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his grandson Gabriel Stimson, October 4, 1984; and his only daughter, Jan Seely Stimson, December 31, 1995. He was also predeceased by his sister, Ida Denson, and his brother, Raymond Seely. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Saturday 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral and Committal Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours, Saturday evening at 7:00 PM. The Rev. Nick McKinney will officiate. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Charles proudly served with the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
