MRS. ELI SEELY DEAD

Well Known Resident Expires at her Home Friday Afternoon

Mrs. Eli T. Seely died at her home, 72 Polk street, Friday afternoon at four o’clock, of chronic appendicitis. Mrs. Seely had been ailing for several years, but was able to be about the house up to within the last two months. For the past thirty days no food passed her lips and she gradually weakened until death relieved her of her sufferings. She was born in Herkimer county, N.Y., March 11, 1828, thus having attained the age of sixty-nine years. She was married to Eli T. Seely in New York state and in 1865 they came to Oshkosh. Mr. Seely followed the occupation of a carpenter for a great part of his life, but retired from active business some years ago. Mrs. Seely is survived by a husband and two daughters, Mrs. S.M. Goss of Melbourne, Wash., who arrived in the city some months ago, and Mrs. W.T. Stillman of this city. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. E.H. Smith, pastor of the First Congregational church will officiate. Friends may view the remains from twelve to two o’clock Sunday afternoon.
