Mrs. Bertha Elsie Seely, 87, died at Memorial Hospital Wednesday. She was born July 6, 1884, in Amana, Ia., the daughter of Robert E. and Anna John. She came to Kansas with her parents as a child, settling in Ottawa County.

On Dec. 2, 1908, she was married to Charles Seely, and the early years of their marriage was spent farming in the Manchester community, moving to Abilene in 1942. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sept. 18, 1965; a daughter, Edna, in 1923; also two granddaughters, four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors are a son, George Seely, Manchester; three daughters, Mrs. Clayton Sexton, Mrs. Eyler Holt and Mrs. Eugene Heck, all of Abilene; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Danner Funeral Home, with the Rev. G.P. Minner officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery.
