Ernest T. “Tad” Seely Sr.
RIDGWAY, Ill. -- Ernest T. "Thad" Seely Sr., 79, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ponds Settlement, the Ridgway Knights of Columbus and the Ridgway American Legion, where he served in the Honor Guard.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Duffy); four sons, E.T. Jr. of Eldorado, Arthur of Nashville, Tenn., Michael of Herrin and Donald of Ridgway; a brother, Norbert of West Branch, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Elizabeth, Eric, Kristina, Daniel, Suzzanah and Dennis Seely, Lori Wargel , Christy McGriff and April Dugger; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dwight.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ponds Settlement, with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Ridgway, with military rites.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cox & Son Funeral Home Ridgway Chapel, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
