Randy Seely

Gunshot Kills Nevada Boy

Randy Seely, 3-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Seely of McGill, Nev., died in a Salt Lake hospital Thursday at 3:45 a.m. of a gunshot wound suffered when he discharged his father’s .22 caliber pistol.

The child was flown to Salt Lake City in an Ely, Nev., ambulance plane.

Mr. Seely told Ely police the child grabbed the pistol from his hands about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday and fired it.

The bullet entered through the neck and went out his back. His parents rushed the boy by car to Steptoe Hospital in Ely, 12 miles southwest of McGill, where he was given emergency treatment before the flight to Salt Lake City.
