Funeral services for Sam Jay Seely, 79, of 5226 Banting Way, a retired salesman for Southwest Cigar Co. and a longtime Dallas resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cedar Temple Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

He died Monday in a Dallas hospital.

Seely was a salesman for 43 years with Southwest Cigar Co. A member of a Dallas pioneer family, he was a master Mason and a member of Hella Temple Shrine.

He was a member and deacon of Cedar Temple Baptist Church.

Seely is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one step-daughter, Mrs. Clifford E. Shepperd; two brothers, Jim Seely and Edwin Seely; three sisters, Mrs. J.B. Pendergrass, Mrs. John L. Ricker and Miss Mary Jo Seely; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
