Edward D. Seelye

PEKIN (PNS) – Edward D. Seelye, 65, of 1022 Augusta died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. He had been a patient since Feb. 16 and had been ill a year.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kueck-Woolsey Funeral Home, the Rev. Ralph Sauter and the Rev. Randall Helfin officiating. Burial will be in Forest City Cemetery, Forest City.

He was born Jan 24, 1912, at Peoria, a son of Henry and Mattie Seelye. He married Norma Jean Hudson Sept. 28, 1946, at Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Richard E., Pekin; two daughters, Mrs. Ladina Rodaway and Mrs. Trudy Lawson, both of Pekin; a sister, Mrs. Grace Williamson, Pekin; a brother, Carl, Pekin; nine grandchildren.

Several brothers and sisters and three grandchildren preceded him in death.

He was employed by the Chicago and Illinois Midland Railroad for 10 years. After that he worked for the Oberlander Guard Service, Peoria, retiring in March, 1976.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Manito, and memorials may be made to the church.
