Mrs. Mattie Seelye
PEKIN – (PNS) – Mrs. Mattie B. Seelye, 80, of 328 Buena Vista died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at her home. She had been in failing health five years.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kuecks Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dewey Muir officiating. Burial will be in Forest City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 20, 1880, in Harts County, Ky., a daughter of Jess Franklin and Susan Sampels Dyers. She was married to Henry Seelye, Dec. 24, 1896, at Manito. He died in 1956.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Grace Williams, Pekin; three sons, Carl W., Edward D., Harry, Pekin; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Two sons, two daughters, two grandchildren, two sisters, and five brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
