Chester J. Seely SOLDIER’S BODY EN ROUTE Dead War Hero Will Be Buried by Parents and Friends The body of Chester J. Seely, Portland boy who died overseas September 30, 1918, is due to arrive in this city for burial tomorrow, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Seely, 146 West Liberty street. Seely was a private, first-class, in the 305th infantry. He enlisted at Portland, July 6, 1918, and was sent to Camp Lewis and from there to France. He was at the front only a short time when he was wounded and died three days later at Red Cross hospital No. 110, St. Illers, Marne, France. The dead solider is survived by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Zella Agnes Simpson of Portland. He was 23 years of age. Funeral services will be held at Finley’s chapel. The time will be announced later.
