The memorial is located in front of the town hall/council house. This scan from a 1920s postcard, and a photocopy of the Order of Service for the unveiling of the memorial on November 1st (All Saints Day) 1922. Since this photo was taken, the chain links around the base have been removed (probably in a scrap drive during WW II), and the names of the WW II dead have been added.
