Ethel M. SEELY, of Salinas, died Monday at Queen of Angels Residential Care from natural causes. She was 101.
Mrs. SEELY was a native of Yuba City and had lived in Salinas since 1983.
She graduated with a degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. She was a lab technician and office nurse for 20 years before retiring in 1963.
Mrs. SEELY enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, picnicking and fishing. She also traveled, taking a cross country trip at age 88, sailing the San Juan Islands at 94 and taking her first airplane ride at 98.
Mrs. SEELY is survived by her daughter, Miriam S. LOW of Coarsegold, her son, Earl SEELY of Davis, four granddaughters, her grandson, three great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.
Memorial services will be at 7pm today at Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel. Burial of ashes will be at Arroyo Grande Cemetery in September.
