Robert R. Seely

Robert R. Seely, 70, died Wednesday at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas after a brief illness.

He was born March 17, 1913, in Indiana.

Mr. Seely served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a coxswain and then did janitorial work until his retirement some years ago.

He had been a Monterey resident for about 17 years.

He is survived by his step-daughters, Lois Johnson of Clovis and June Ellis of Fernly, Nev., as well as six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of the Seaside, with Pastor Dan H. Coker of the First Southern Baptist Church in Seaside officiating. Private cremation has been held and will be followed by burial at sea.
