Beverley Seely

Mrs. Beverley Seely, 54, who operated Petronelle’s apparel shop for women in San Carlos for the past 10 years, died today in Sequoia Hospital after a short illness.

She was wife of Oliver Q. Seely, a long-time city critic who ran for councilman in 1970. He missed election by only 146 votes.

Seely operated the store at 648 Laurel St., along with his wife, and at the same time worked as a sales manager for a Hayward heating and air conditioning firm.

Mrs. Seely was a member of the Villagers, and was former member of the San Francisco Opera Association and of the local Gilbert & Sullivan opera group.

She was a native of San Carlos and a graduate of Sequoia High School. The family home is at 516 Emerald Ave., San Carlos.

In addition to her widower, she leaves her sister, Mrs. Arline Lowry of Sacramento, and two step children, Dr. Mary K. Seely of Southwest Africa and Dr. Clinton Seely of Chicago.

Private services will be held Monday at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, under direction of White Oaks Chapel, 1696 El Camino Real, San Carlos.
