Ferne Seely

Ferne Elsie Seely, aged 66, died February 25 at a Fort Bragg hospital. Services were held Monday at the Anker Lucier Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend James Healy officiating. Burial followed in Ukiah Cemetery.

Mrs. Seely was a native of Kansas, and had lived in Willits for ten years prior to moving to Fort Bragg two years ago. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Winfield, Kansas.

She and her husband formerly operated the Evergreens Rest Home in Willits and since moving to Fort Bragg have operated the Seely Rest Home there.

Survivors include her husband, William of Fort Bragg; adopted children Dennis, Suzie and Danny Schisler; foster children of Sandy Gunter and Luella Shoup; brothers George Kowing of Kansas and John Kowing of Fort Bragg; sisters Opal Field, Dolly Linnabary and Louise Danley of Kansas and Evelyn Wilson of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
