GEO. W. SEELEY SUCCUMBS AT AROMAS
George W. Seeley, one of the pioneers of California, died at the home of J.J. Collins near Aromas last evening at 7 o'clock after a short illness.
The decedent was a native of Iowa and was aged 79 years, 2 months and 1 day. He came to California 46 years ago and settled in Yolo county where he engaged in mining. Later he moved to Santa Clara valley and then to Aromas where he has resided continuously for the past 22 years.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J.J. Collins of Aromas and Jessie B. Seeley of Los Angeles, and two sons, L.G. Seeley of Hemet, Riverside county, and E.E. Seeley of Aromas.
The funeral will be held on Sunday morning at the Aromas Methodist church at 11 o'clock. The body will be shipped to San Jose for burial.
Mr. Seeley had led an active life while he resided in this valley and was regarded as one of the leading farmers of the Aromas section. He was a man of pleasing personality, of high character and possessed the happy faculty of not only making friends easily but by retaining those friendships through life. His death will be mourned by all that knew him.
