DEATH OF O.J. SEELEY

Orrin J. Seeley died at his home here about midnight on Wednesday of pneumonia, after a week’s illness, at the age of sixty-nine years, six months and 16 days.

The funeral services are to be held at the Undertaking Parlors at 2:30 p.m. today and the interment will be in the Masonic cemetery.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Florence Seeley, he leaves four young sons, John R., Everett James, Mark Wilson and William Linus.

Mr. Seeley was born in New Brunswick Dec. 9, 1857, and came to Coos county in 1890 as superintendent of construction of the Coos Bay, Roseburg & Eastern railroad, of which he was one of the promoters and incorporators. After that road was completed he went to work in the logging camps, having been engaged in that work practically ever since in the valley and over at the bay side. For the past thirty years his home has been in Coquille, and he was a member of both the I.O.O.F. and Knights of Pythias here.

He has been twice married, his first wife having been Amelia A. Wise, ofSan Diego, and his last Florence Windle.

He was a man whom all respected and there is nothing, but good to be said of him.

Funeral of O.J. Seeley

The funeral of the late O.J. Seeley took place at the Undertaking Parlors here at 2 o’clock last Friday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. W.E. Coupar. There was a large attendance and the stores were closed during the services. There were many beautiful floral offerings in tribute to the memory of the deceased. The interment was in the Masonic cemetery and the services there were in charge of the local lodge of the Knights of Pythias.
