LYNN VICTOR SEELEY Services were held Friday for Lynn Victor “Vic” Seeley, an Independence native who died April 10 at the age of 85. Seeley died in a Salem nursing home. Born in Independence, Seeley lived here all his life except the two years during World War I when he worked in the shipyards in Vancouver, Wash. Seeley was a farmer in Independence. A 50 year member of the Monmouth grange. Seeley was also a past noble grand and charter member of the Independence Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Independence Odd Fellows Lodge for better than 50 years and a member of the Model Encampment No. 35 of the Monmouth IOOF. Survivors include his wife, Irene; daughter Ruth E. Finley of Salem; son Vernon E., of Fremont, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services were Friday afternoon at Parmenter Mortuary and interment in Hilltop Cemetery.
