Mrs. Archie Seely, who has been an invalid for some years, passed away at her home at Hancock and Washington streets Tuesday evening.

Obituary

Olive Emma Stratton was born at West Branch, Ia., February 10, 1881, and passed away at her home in Newberg Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1938, at the age of 57 years, 9 months, and 13 days.

She was the next to youngest child of Mary Elma and William Stratton, who with their family moved to Newberg, Ore., in 1891. Since that time she had resided in Newberg.

She was graduated from Pacific academy in 1897 and from Pacific college in 1901. Following her graduation she taught school at Nehalem, Mountain Top, and Chehalem Center, Ore. She then worked at the First National Bank of Newberg.

On October 12, 1909, she was united in marriage to Archie C. Seely.

A birthright Friend, she was a member of the Newberg Friends church. She was also a member of Newberg chapter No. 55 Order of Eastern Star, and of the Neighbors of Woodcraft.

Survivors are her husband, Archie C. Seely; her daughter, Marjorie Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Edna S. Lamb and Mrs. Charles A. Hodson of Newberg; and one brother, J. LeRoy Statton of Bend.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 25, 1938, at 2 o’clock at the Newberg Friends church with interment in the Friends cemetery.
