William Waters SEELY

W.W. Seely, 77, Resident of City For 25 Years, Dies

Funeral services were held Monday in Portland for William Waters Seely, a resident of Seaside for the past 25 years. Mr. Seely, who had been ill for some months, died at the Seaside hospital Friday. He was 77 years of age. He had operated a small cottage group at Franklin and Avenue A for many years and had a large number of friends in the city.

A native of Oregon, Mr. Seely was born at Sweetwater in 1870, but he spent most of his life in Portland before coming to Seaside 25 years ago. He was a lumber sawyer and worked in most of the large mills in the Portland area and for a short time was a sawyer at the Prouty Lumber company of Warrenton. He was a member of the Maccabee lodge for the past 35 years.

Survivors include his widow, Mary; one daughter, Zella Agnes Wyatt, Seaside; two sisters, Alice A. Hilyard and Mrs. Harry Ronan, both of Portland; two brothers, John J. of Portland and Lucius A., Lebanon; one step brother, Lovett Stevens, Portland. A son was killed in the first world war.
