Charles S. SEELY Charlie Seely Dies; Services Tuesday Charlie S. Seely, a resident of Benton county for the past 75 years, died in a local hospital Saturday evening following a long illness. The son of William and Elizabeth Foxes Seely, he was born September 22, 1868 at Patterson, Ill. He came to Oregon with his parents at the age of 19 and the family settled in Springfield where they lived until about 1888 when he moved to the Alsea Valley. For many years Mr. Seely owned and operated a dairy farm in Alsea and in 1941 he moved to Corvallis. For the last several years he had made his home with his niece Mrs. Carl Schloeman. Funeral services will be held in the McHenry Funeral Home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Charles S. Neville officiating. Interment will be in the Alsea Cemetery. Besides his niece, Mrs. Schloeman, he is survived by two nephews, Lloyd Seely of Klamath Falls, H. Raymond Oglesby of Veneta; four other nieces, Mrs. Frank Bidwell of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Vest Petty of Arizona, Mrs. Joseph Johnes of Portland, Mrs. Ray Hoffman of South Pasadena, Calif.
