C. Chris Seely

Feb. 5, 1911 – May 29, 1988

KEIZER – C. Chris Seely, 77, died Sunday.

He was born near Oak Grove and was a longtime resident of Salem, where he owned and operated the Merchant’s Credit Bureau. He moved to Keizer in April. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a former member of the Willamette Quartet.

He belonged to the First Baptist Church, Salem, and the Salem Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed listening to and playing classical music.

Survivors include daughters, Judith Ferguson of Spokane and Kate Karol of Honolulu; a son, the Rev. James A. of Boise, Idaho; and a brother, Kenneth of Salem.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Barrick mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Crest Abbey, Salem.
