Eileen Leslie SEELY SEELY Eileen L. Seely, a resident of Prineville, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. She was 81. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, at Prineville Funeral Home. Mrs. Seely was born May 16. 1915, in Hart, Mich., to Calvin and Cecil (Hastings) Colby. As a small child she moved with her family to Gervais, where she grew up and attended grade school. She graduated from Gervais High School. After graduating from high school, she went to work for Rohner’s Grocery Store and she also worked part-time at the post office with her mother. She married Lloyd Seely on Aug. 6, 1938, in Vancouver, Wash. In 1950, they moved to Albany, where she went to work for several different grocery stores, until the couple purchased and operated their own grocery stores in Albany, Rickreall and Scio. They retired in 1986, and she moved to Prineville in 1990. Her hobbies included painting, bowling, playing cards, collecting pigs, and visiting with her friends at the Desert Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Seely of Albany; daughters Ruth Durheim of Prineville and Jeri Smith of Union, Wash.; sister Aline Minnich of Woodburn; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother. Memorials may be directed to the Prineville Senior Center, 180 N. Belknap, Prineville, or to the charity of one’s choice.
