Horace G. SEELEY Obituary Transcription HORACE G. SEELEY Private services were held Monday afternoon at Mount Crest Abbey Mausoleum, Salem, for Horace G. Seeley, 85, Independence who died Friday evening in the Dallas hospital. Cremation followed the services. Henkle & Bollman were in charge of arrangements. Mr. Seeley, who had lived near Independence for 54 years was born March 7, 1861, in Delaware county, New York, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Seeley. He was a descendant of old-time settlers in New York and as a boy, did surveying in Nebraska. He had lived in Oregon for 57 years and was a farmer by trade. Mr. Seeley was married to Martina Welch in Nebraska. Surviving are the widow of Independence, two daughters, Mrs. June Copson of Corvallis and Miss Hazel Seeley of Portland, and two sons, Victor of Independence and Edgar of Portland.
