Bessie Seeley – W.A. Gage

GAGE – SEELEY

Another surprise was sprung on our people last Thursday afternoon when W.A. Gage and Miss Bessie Seeley autoed to Anamosa where they were quietly married. While this event had been expected for some time past, no one but the parties interested knew when it was to take place; but when some of our young people saw Bert and Bessie start out of town westward they took it for granted that they were headed from Anamosa, the clerk’s office and the home of a magistrate empowered to tie a nuptial knot. A huge sign was painted and placed over the door of Mr. Gage’s cleaning and pressing parlors bearing the legend: “Gone away to get married. Back soon.”

The bride is a charming young lady who has made her home at Hotel Williams for some time past. Her parents reside at Olin, and we hear her highly spoken of. She is well versed in the domestic art and will prove a true helpmeet in the new home thus established.

The groom, Mr. Gage, has been a resident of Wyoming for some time, first assisting in Hotel Williams and conducting a French Dry Cleaning and Pressing business. Recently he opened up the Wyoming Suititorium on the north side of Main street where he is now doing a good business. He is well and favorably known to our people and well liked.

Mr. and Mrs. Gage have gone to housekeeping in a suit rooms to the rear of the Suititorium.

The Journal joins with their host of friends in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Gage bon voyage down the River of Life.
