Will Take for Bride Miss Edith M. Seeley – Rev. Hough Houston to Perform Ceremony

A QUIET WEDDING

Two prominent Poughkeepsie people, Miss Edith M. Seeley, of 73 South Hamilton Street, and Howard Turner, of 31 Harrison Street, will be married this afternoon. Rev. Hough Houston, pastor of Trinity M. E. Church, will perform the ceremony at the home of Mrs. A. E. Gorton, 73 South Hamilton Street, in the presence of a few relatives and intimate friends.

Arthur Turner, of 31 Harrison Street, brother of the bridegroom will be best man, and Miss Seeley will have as her only attendant a friend, Miss Helen Smillie, of Rhinebeck.

The bride will wear a blue traveling suit with corsage bouquet of bride’s roses and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor will wear gray Georgette crepe with pink sweet peas. Clarence E. Gorton will play the wedding marches.

Daisies and field flowers will be used in the decorations throughout the house which will be carried out in gold and white. The ceremony will take place in the parlor.

After a small reception the bridal party will leave on a wedding trip that will include Washington, D. C., and other southern points. On their return they will make their home at 75 Garden Street.

Among the out of town guests attending the ceremony will be Mr. and Mrs. Ray Turner, of Reinebeck: Mrs. Elizabeth Smillie and daughter, of Rhinebeck: Mrs. O.J. Seeley, mother of the bride, and her brother, Guy Seeley, of New York City, and others.

Both of the young people are well known in Poughkeepsie, Miss Seeley has been employed as bookkeeper in the Ely Eiting store, where Mr. Turner is a popular salesman. Mr. Turner is a member of the Poughkeepsie Lodge of Elks and Davy Crockett Hook and Ladder Company.
