MISS INEZ SEELEY MARRIED.

The Galena Times for Thursday contained the following account of the marriage of Miss Inez Seeley, a former Columbus girl. The Seeley family lived here for a number of years and were prominent people of the town. Miss Inez attended our city school and since moving to Galena she has visited here frequently:

The wedding of Mr. William Arthur Davis and Miss Inez Seeley was celebrated in the home of the bride’s mother on South Galena avenue Wednesday evening, Oct. 30, and was one of the most elaborate home weddings ever given in this city.

The wedding took place in the north parlor where a special corner was arranged for the occasion. The background was a mass of autumn foliage in all the different tints and colors and the center was filled in with large white chrysanthemums. In front of this was a white rug for the bridal couple to stand on and on either side were immense potted ferns on tall pedestals. The scene was a most beautiful one.

To the strains of Annie Laurie placed softly on the piano by Mr. Davis’ eldest sister, Mrs. J.R. Hitchcock of Kansas City, the bride and groom preceded by the Presbyterian minister, Rev. Robert Liddell, D.D., entered the parlor and took their places. Then the wedding march was played and the ceremony performed at 7 o’clock. The beautiful ring service being used. For the ceremony the bride was attired in an elegant princess dress of French lawn elaborately trimmed with hand-made tatting. She wore in her hair a dainty bunch of wax orange blossoms, the ones her mother had worn at her wedding forty years ago.

After the ceremony and congratulations the wedding reception was given from 8 till 10 and to both events the invited guests included 150 persons. The bridal table was in white and green with a huge shower of white carnations in the center and broad streams of satin ribbon draped from the chandelier to the four corners. Between these streamers were thick stands of smilax overhanging the table.

The refreshments, ice cream and assorted cakes, were also carried out in green and white. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were recipients of a grand outlay of wedding presents. They left of the midnight Frisco fro Glencoe, Okla., in company with in brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. P.B. Vardament of that city, where they will spend their honeymoon and will be at home to friends at 914 Galena avenue, this city, after November 15.

Mr. Davis and his bride have spent many years of their life in Galena, both being graduates of the Galena high school and she has taught in the public schools here several terms. They both move in the best social circles and take an active part in church work. Mr. Davis is engaged in the retail grocery business with his father, H.S. Davis, and he is considered one of Galena’s most energetic and prosperous young business men.

The out of town guests who attended the wedding were Mesdames J.R. Hitchcok and J.R. Stewart of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. P.B. Vandament of Glencoe, Okla., the lading being sisters of the groom. Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Ashley and son Dick, Miss Bess Houx and Mr. and Mrs. Stacey Haines of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hedges and son Warren of Springfield, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Wallace of Joplin, Captain Hubbard and daughter, Miss Nellie, Mr. Will Peters, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bradford from the country.
