Miss Seeley Bride Saturday Washington Girl Weds F.W. Hartzell Local relatives and friends have returned home from the wedding in Washington on Friday evening at 8 o’clock of Miss Margaret Krieg Seeley, daughter of Mrs. Douglas A. Seeley of Washington and New York City, who became the bride of Francis William Hartzell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. Hartzell, Sr., of 205 Pearl St., this city, in a ceremony in Hamline Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Walter M. Michael of Cumberland, Md., officiated for the rites in the presence of relatives and friends. Miss Mary Burke was maid of honor and Misses Betty Neale and Nan Murphy, Mrs. Allen K. Sherman and Mrs. William Worthington, were the bridesmaids. Richard F. Hartzell, Jr., served his brother as best man, and ushers were Freeman Goebert of this city: John Logan, Philadelphia, Thomas Curtis and Don Buckley of Washington. Preceding the rites, Capt. John Baine sang “Because,” “I Love You Truly.” And “The Lord’s Prayer,” and Mrs. Kathryn Rawls, organist, played “Ave Marie” and “O Perfect Love” on the organ chimes. The full candlelight ceremony took place in a floral setting of white gladioli. Given in marriage by her uncle, Peter Krieg of Marshfield, Wis., the bride looked lovely in a princess gown of wedding-ring satin, designed with a sweetheart neckline and train. She wore a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, and her illusion veil was caught with a circlet of orange blossoms. Her flowers were a sheaf of calla lilies. The maid of honor wore a bouffant gown of Madonna blue taffeta faille with a sweetheart neckline and bracelet-length sleeves. Her headdress was a tiara of natural pansies, and she carried a floor-length cascade of pansies tied with vari-colored ribbons and a large bow of gold taffeta. Mrs. Seeley, mother of the bride, wore white with a jeweled turquoise bird of paradise design. A matching blue ostrich feather in her hair and long white gloves completed her ensemble. Mrs. Hartzell, Sr., was attired in Delft blue, with which she wore long pink gloves, a blue and pink flower hat, and a corsage of orchids. The reception was held in the Palm Room of Hotel 2400, Washington, and the couple left later for a wedding trip in New York City. They will live here until Mr. Hartzell finished his education. The bride, who has been a congressional secretary, attended George Washington University. Her late father, Douglas A. Seeley, was assistant reporter, United States Supreme Court. The bridegroom is a Lock Haven High School graduate in 1941 and studied one year at the local college before entering the Navy. Out of town guests for the wedding included Mrs. Sue Warner of Marshfield, Wis., the bride’s grandmother; also Mrs. Wilham Dominick, Tom Kriez, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Noll, Capt. And Mrs. John Schubert, all of Marshfield; Mrs. Verna Springer, Wheeling, W. Va., the bridegroom’s grandmother: Mrs. Carl Goebert, Mrs. George C. Jones and Pvt. Jack Goebert of this city.
