MISS SEELEY JUNE BRIDE AT BROOKDALE

Norwood – Miss Patricia Seeley, daughter of the late Maytie A. Townsend Seeley and Leland E. Seeley and Nathan Merrifield, son of Ida Pierson Merrifield and Robert Merrifield of Heuvelton, were united in holy matrimony at a candle light wedding at the home of the Rev. Reginald Dewitt in Brookdale, N.Y., Tuesday evening, June 24.

The house was decorated with flowers and white candles in groups of three.

Mrs. Reginald Hewitt presided at the piano and played the Lohengrin Wedding March. Mrs. Ralph Chambers, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Leah Seeley, also sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. Phyllis Arleen Chambers, niece of the bride, was flower girl, carrying the brides bouquet. Helen and Harold Curry, niece and nephew of the groom, also carried flowers. Ralph Chambers was groom’s usher and Harley Besio, bridesmaid’s usher. Lawrence Seeley, brother of the bride, gave her in marriage. Leeland Edward Backus, nephew of the bride, acted as ring bearer.

The bride was most attractive in a gown of white satin, with a brocaded bolero jacket, fitted bodice and a full skirt, which was floor length. Her finger tip veil of net was held in place by a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried an arm bouquet of red roses and swainsona.

The matron of honor wore an Alice Blue lace gown over blue satin with a matching flowered calot and carried an arm bouquet of yellow roses. The bridesmaid wore a rose taffeta gown with a matching flowered calot and carried pink roses.

Phyllis Arleen Chambers, who acted as flower girl, was attired in an embroidered pink organdy dress with pink net trimmed puff sleeves and neck line, a full skirt and bow sash. A pink velvet ribbon was fastened in the back o f her curls. Helen Curry was attired in yellow and Harold Curry in white. The ring bearer was smartly attired in white linen, carrying a black velvet heart shaped cushion bearing the ring.

After the ceremony the bridal reception was held at the home of the bride. Many close relatives and friends were present.

At the dinner the matron of honor presented her with a beautiful decorated five-tier pyramid cake. A white church and miniature minister adorned the top, and white candles lighted a pathway from the church to a little white house at the bottom of the cake, where a miniature bride and groom stood in the pathway.

After the reception the bride changed to a blue and pink traveling dress with harmonizing accessories. After a short honeymoon the couple will reside at home in Heuvelton.

Among the out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Backus, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Backus and sons, Leeland and David, all of Syracuse; Hermon Chambers and Mrs. Nellie Chambers, of Canton; Mrs. Harry Smith, Rensselaer Falls, Mr. Merrifield is employed at Sheffield Canning Co., Canton.
