A Prince from Napavine Bears Off an Olympia Trophy

The marriage last evening at the Methodist Episcopal church in Olympia of Miss Nellie S., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. McIntyre of this city, to Mr. Clarence B. Seeley of Napavine, Washington, was a exquisite social event.

Under the deft hands of Mrs. Sickles and Mrs. Grant Talcott the church had been decorated as never before, with the windows draped in teavine, the wall behind the pulpit being entwined with like drapery, all entwined with wild aster blossoms, fiving it a most beautiful effect. The cattails that were banked against walls and pews were twined in vines, and the arch of holly that was suspended above the heads of the contracting parties had suspended beneath it a floral bell, with a beautiful lily clapper. The organ was banded with roses, and the whole effect was made complete with beautiful bouquets.

The bride-elect, with bouquet in hand, and robed in white silk wedding gown and veil, entered the left aisle of the church, attended by her younger sister as bridesmaid, while the groom, in conventional black, attended by Mr. Sparks as groomsman, passed down the right aisle.

The pleasing ceremony at the altar was conducted by Rev. S.S. Sulliger, presiding elder of Olympia district M.E. church, and was witnessed by a host of invited friends of the bride and groom.

Messrs. Lawrence McBratney and Roy Huggett did the honors of the occasion in the capacity of ushers, and Prof. Roberts presided at the instrument for the wedding march.

The reception room at the rear of the auditorium also was tastefully decorated, and beneath a floral arch, from which were suspended five exquisitely fashioned floral bells, the newly married pair held an informal reception and were heartily congratulated by the members of the congregation.

Miss McIntyre is well known in Olympia society as an accomplished lady. During the greater part of the period of her ten years residence here she has presided as organist at the Methodist church, and all who know the sweetness of his disposition will agree that she will make an ideal minister’s wife.

Mr. Seely, the fortunate gentleman who is the subject for congratulation, is a graduate of the O.C.I., and is, therefore, by no means unknown in Olympia. He is a life-long student, having since graduating here attended college two years at Evanston, Ill., and graduated from the theological college at Denver. Mr. Seely has joined the Olympia district M.E. conference, and hopes to take up ministerial work in this field.

Among the notables present at the ceremony last evening were Governor and Mrs. Rogers and daughters, Major and Mrs. Ballaine, Insurance Commissioner Heifner and wife, Deputy Attorney General Vance and wife, and others.

Mr. and Mrs. Seely left this afternoon on a wedding trip to Westport beach.
