Vows Are Exchanged By Leona Rash and Donald F. Seeley

In a recent afternoon ceremony vows were exchanged by Miss Leona Rash and Seaman Second Class Donald F. Seeley of the United States Navy.

Baskets of varicolored flowers and palms decorated the Church of the Brethren, where the marriage service was read by Rev. G.C. Stutsman of Empire. The bride was given away by her father.

Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Arline Bruman sang Oh Promise Me.

Attending as maid of honor was Miss Violet McCoy with Yeoman Third Class Werner Schmidt of the United States Navy of Alameda as best man.

The bride wore the traditional white. Her gown was fashioned with a taffeta bodice and full net skirt, With it she wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of white carnations and an orchid.

The maid of honor had a gown of blue net. Her bouquet was of white and orchid chrysanthemums.

Following the wedding, with over 100 guests present, a reception was held in the home of the bride’s parents. Cake, ice cream and punch were served. Featured on the table was the three tiered wedding cake decorated with a bride and a navy groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Rash. She graduated from the Modesto High School and was employed in Modesto.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Seeley of Halsey, Neb. Mrs. Seeley was present at her son’s wedding.

For her going away costume the bride selected a two piece dress of marine blue wool, whose blouse was studded with silver nail heads. Her accessories were of navy blue. She wore an orchid corsage.

After a wedding trip to Santa Cruz, the young couple went to Oakland, where they are making their home.
