Miss Hamilton Weds Kenneth Seeley In the presence of a large number of friends and relatives gathered in Grace Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock, Miss Ruby Ellen Hamilton and John Kenneth Seeley were united in marriage. Miss Hamilton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Hamilton, while Mr. Seeley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Seeley of Tacoma, Wash. Rev. Paul J. Kluth performed the service. The church was decorated with white asters, lilium giganteum and palms and was lighted by candelabra. Preceding the appearance of the wedding party, Mrs. Kenneth Folsom sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly” and the wedding music was played on the organ by Miss Barbara Scott. The bride, on the arm of her father, was lovely in her Princess style gown made with train, with a finger tip length veil, and carrying a shower bouquet of gardenias and bouvardia. A pearl pin was her only ornament. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. C.A. Smith as matron of honor, while the bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Burrus, Mrs. Spencer H. Hamilton, sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss Cora Owen. All were dressed in taffeta gowns of blue, lilac, violet and rose respectively, made with basque waist and bustle fullness, with hats to match, and they carried fan bouquets of flowers to harmonize with their dresses. The best man was Clyde H. Forsythe, and the ushers were Spencer Hamilton, brother of the bride, Robert Seelos, of San Diego, and Ralph Collins of San Diego. A reception in the church followed the exchange of vows. For going away, the bride was dressed in a beige wool costume with short fur jacket, with accessories in gingertone. She wore a gardenia corsage. The wedding trip will take Mr. and Mrs. Seeley as far as Tacoma, Wash., where they will pay a visit to the bridegroom’s parents. A stop will be made in Salem, Ore., and in San Francisco. After September 24, they will be at home in Riverside. Mr. Seeley is employed in Norco. The bride attended the Riverside schools, and has been employed in Rouse’s. Published in the Riverside Daily Press (Riverside, California), Monday, September 11, 1939 | |
